Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis insists Gonzalo Higuain will stay, despite interest from Arsenal and Atletico Madrid.

The Argentinian striker has spent two seasons with the Partenopei, but has been linked with a move to the Gunners after the club missed out on Champions League football for next season.

“The newspapers don’t know what to write,” De Laurentiis told Sky.

“They just make up a load of nonsense, he has a contract which must be respected.

“If some madman meets his release clause, that’s different, but he’s a Napoli player.”

The patron also hinted at a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile.

“He’s a goalscorer, he just needs to find the right place.

“I had wanted to reunite the [Marco] Verratti- [Lorenzo] Insigne-Immobile group [from their Pescara days, in 2012] but the Coach at the time [Walter Mazzarri] said no.”
