Milan midfielder Nigel de Jong hints he will not sign a contract extension to stay with the Rossoneri beyond this season.

The Dutch international’s contract expires at the end of the season, and he has been linked with a move to Manchester United.

“That’s something for the journalists,” De Jong said of the rumours, speaking to MilanNews.

“We’ll see about next year. I’ve spoken with the directors, and so has my manager. Let’s see how it goes.

“Will I stay? I don’t know, let’s see.”

The former Manchester City midfielder also discussed the Diavolo’s form, and says everyone is to blame for their struggles.

“Our Coach is responsible, but so are the players. We need to grow.

“This spell isn’t only difficult for us, but also for the club and the fans. It’s not like last year, we’ve been losing points and we have to grow again.

“That’s what football is like, negativity is just another part of football, but as I said before, we must grow in quality.

“There are still 12 games to go.”
