Reports are intensifying that Nigel de Jong will leave Milan as a free agent for Manchester United.
The midfielder’s contract is due to expire on June 30 and it appears as if neither side is particularly interested in a renewal.
ESPN are adding to the already numerous suggestions that De Jong will reunite with Dutch manager Louis van Gaal at Manchester United.
His wage demands are thought to be in the region of €4m per year and it’d be a return to Manchester, albeit the other side after his experience with City.

“I haven’t decided yet and I don’t know when I will make that decision,” De Jong told nu.nl while on international duty with Holland.
“It could be at the end of April or at the end of the season. First of all I want to figure out what Milan’s plans are to get back to being the great club of the past.
“It’s still too early to say where I’ll be playing next term. It could be Milan, Ajax or another club. There are several options, as I will be a free agent.
“I’ll take a little time so that I can make the best decision.”
