“De Guzman asked not to be sold to Sunderland,” Giuseppe Cannella claimed in an interview with Radio Crc.

“They’re managed by someone who he doesn’t believe would be good for him [Advocaat].

“In the last few hours another club has come into the picture, another club that wants to get De Guzman. It’s a German club, but I can’t say any more.

“I think it would be a loan with the right of redemption, the way all the big clubs have already invested.

“Today could be the decisive day, even though there are still medicals to do.

“De Guzman is a Dutch international, and also a good guy. He understands that his immediate future is not with Napoli, so he’ll go to play somewhere else.

“We’re evaluating what’s best for the player and for Napoli.”
