Frank de Boer is standing by his agent story and believes he could have been a success for Inter.
De Boer lasted just 85 days as Inter boss in 2016, losing seven of his 14 games in charge, and the Dutchman reiterated he was made to feel undermined by the Nerazzuri.
“I work for a very young club: there are no former Presidents or directors with much influence here,” the Atlanta United boss told De Telegraaf.

“At Inter, a player’s agent came up to me once and told me: ‘If I’d known you wouldn’t have let my client play, I would never have given you permission for you become Coach.
“That’s to make people understand how far their influence in the club extends. I was shocked that no disciplinary action was taken against him.
“In that sense, working here is much more relaxing. I’m sure I’d have done well for Inter if they were a little more patient with me.
“Inside of me there’s still disappointment for not being able to prove what I really could do there.
“I want to show once more that I can also succeed in a top European League.”
