Italian tactician Gianni De Biasi has been confirmed as the new Coach of the Albanian national side.

The 55-year-old has signed a two-year contract and replaces Josip Kuze after their disappointing Euro 2012 qualifying campaign.

De Biasi, a former midfielder during his playing days, will be presented to the media at a Press conference in Tirana on Monday.

The tactician, who has bossed clubs such as Modena, Torino and Brescia, has been out of work since February 2010.

His last appointment was at Udinese in December 2009, but he was replaced eight weeks later by Pasquale Marino – the man he actually succeeded at the Stadio Friuli.

Albania are in World Cup 2014 qualifying Group E alongside Norway, Slovenia, Switzerland, Cyprus and Iceland.
