Canada international Jonathan David, who has been linked with Napoli, Milan and Chelsea, insists he is not thinking about the summer transfer window but refuses to rule out leaving Lille at the end of the current campaign.
The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for Serie A giants Napoli and Milan as well as Premier League side Chelsea. Napoli are prepared to sell Osimhen in the summer and David is among their options to replace the Nigeria international.
David provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.
“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.
His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.
“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.
“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”
David’s representative Nikos Mavromaras was spotted in Milan last week, but Italian sources denied a meeting with any Serie A club, including Milan. David has scored 23 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.
