New Napoli winger David Neres was robbed at gunpoint after the Partenopei’s 2-1 win over Parma on Saturday, his wife said on Instagram.

Napoli winger Neres was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday night after a 2-1 victory against Parma at the Stadio Maradona.

The thieves were driving a motorcycle and smashed the car not too far away from the Stadio Maradona.

According to Calciomercato.com, Neres was heading to the Grand Hotel Parker’s with his wife and daughter and was robbed of a Rolex watch.

Neres and his family were clearly shocked, so the winger didn’t stop to sign autographs for fans outside the hotel. For this reason, his wife offered her apology through her official Instagram account.

“David would like to say sorry to the fans who were waiting outside for him,” Kira Winona wrote in an Instagram story.

“While trying to leave the stadium after the game, two men on a motorcycle smashed the car and robbed him at gunpoint.”

Neres joined Napoli from Benfica this summer, completing a permanent €28m transfer.

The Brazil international provided two assists in the Partenopei’s opening two games, including one for André Zambo Anguissa’s winner last night.

  1. Naples and Italy must do something to change the narrative about this city and it problems with crime particularly against vulnerable players before a tragedy occurs. The people of Naples have had enough if this behavior and need consistent policing.
