Parma were already relegated ahead of the 1-0 defeat to Lazio on Wednesday, but Ciro Immobile’s goal in stoppages frustrated the coach.

“Tonight’s defeat is the emblem of what has happened since I returned,” D’Aversa said at a press conference.

“Unfortunately, we lost a game through an action in which there were four or five unfavourable rebounds.

“Many times we could bring home a positive result, but instead we find ourselves once again complaining. It’s not a question of luck or bad luck.

“There’s a foundation to start again and that’s important. Having young people, however, can lead to making mistakes of inexperience.

“The characteristics of my teams in recent years was to resist and make life hard for the opponents, like tonight.

“There have been few games in which the opponents have been superior in terms of team performance.

“For me, Parma is a prestigious club, they bring a certain number of fans in all divisions. At the end of the year, we will evaluate with the club, it’s not a division problem.”
