Parma Coach Roberto D’Aversa has “regrets” after Parma fumbled a 1-0 lead at San Siro, losing 2-1 to Milan. “We could’ve done better.”

The Ducali had gone in front through a Roberto Inglese header on a corner, but within 15 minutes Patrick Cutrone and Franck Kessie from the penalty spot had turned it around.

“We did well to contain the initial vehemence of Milan and even took the lead, but then we didn’t keep the situation calm and let the clock tick on after that goal,” the Coach told DAZN.

“The equaliser came from a ball we gave away and we should’ve done better on that situation. That is the big regret, that we could’ve evaluated Hakan Calhanoglu’s position better.

“We mustn’t think about the referee’s decisions, but about what we could’ve done differently.”

A Franck Kessie penalty was the decider after VAR showed Alessandro Bastoni’s handling offence.

“Ignazio Abate was very good at limiting our counter-attacks, as he is remarkably quick. Yet in the first half, we had the best chance with Antonino Barillà. As I said, there are regrets.”
