The Crociati were officially relegated as Mergim Vojvoda scored the only goal in the game to help Torino secure three vital points in the relegation battle.

D’Aversa, who was re-appointed as Fabio Liverani’s replacement in January, felt the 1-0 defeat to Torino ‘reflects’ the whole season.

“We are professionals and therefore it’s normal to behave as such,” D’Aversa told Sky Sport Italia after the defeat on Monday night.

“Tonight’s game reflects the championship we had, at least since I returned. Torino have not shown superiority over us.

“We lack charisma and determination, and this has compromised not only tonight’s game but let’s say the whole result.

“We are sorry, after four years of work, we are unfortunately back in a division that’s not part of a city and team like Parma.”

President Kyle Krause was present to see the Gialloblu get relegated to Serie B and D’Aversa believes the club will bounce back for ‘a bright future’.

“We have lost another match where we didn’t materialise, not for lack of quality but for frenzy, due to our position in the table,” he said.

“I certainly don’t think about my future. The club is structuring itself to become an important club. The future will be bright, but we are very sorry for the moment we are living.

“It’s not good to be relegated for this club, which deserves Serie A.”

D’Aversa said the Crociati are going down due to the ‘lack of personality’.

“We lacked charisma and personality,” he continued. “Too many times we concede goals too easily. I wasn’t good at conveying the desire to win and to pay attention."
