"There is little talk of the team who are eighth in the table despite losing important players. I'm not sad as a coach, but what these lads are achieving is taken for granted. What interests me is the game against Bologna," said D'Aversa in his press conference.
The injury crisis shows no signs of abating, as Andreas Cornelius picked up another problem on international duty, meaning he is ruled out along with Roberto Inglese, Gervinho and Yann Karamoh.
D'Aversa was asked about Bologna boss Sinisa Mihaljovic, who is recovering from leukaemia and recently underwent a bone marrow transplant.
"From a sporting point of view we talked about giving him the Panchina d'Oro (Coach of the Year Award). I would give it to him for what he done last year. He is an example for everyone. For me, he is an example as a human being and as a coach, I would have liked to see him on the bench against us.
"Bologna are very organised, they bring intensity in both phases. Riccardo Orsolini and Nicola Sansone are quality players and they bring intensity in attacking aggression. We know how we will start the game, but what counts is bringing home a result and hopefully we come away with an important victory after the international break."
Dejan Kulusevski has been under a lot of attention lately, with the youngster linked to some of the biggest sides in Europe thanks to performances while on loan from Atalanta.
"He is under observation by the big clubs, but it's up to us to protect the boy and avoid certain situations."
