“Juventus had problems in their last match, but remain one of the best teams in Europe,” said the Ducali Coach in his Press conference.
“Their difficulties were created by the way Atalanta approached the game. We must be aware of Juve’s strength, so keep the intensity and focus always to the max. Nothing is impossible in life or in football.
“We go into this game proud of what we’ve achieved thus far. What we cannot do is turn up and try to defend a draw from the start, because that’ll get us nowhere. We take precautions, but want to make the most of their slightest weakness. We already saw in the first meeting that we are a strong team.”
If Juve were defeated midweek, Parma also received a psychological blow by fumbling a lead to lose at home to SPAL.
“I think that can be a valuable lesson for us, as we know it must never happen again. I saw the lads fired up and we know our objective has not yet been achieved.”
Juventus had tried to sign Bruno Alves over the January transfer window to plug the gaps during an injury crisis that has ruled out Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli, but Parma blocked it.
“It would’ve been an important opportunity for him, but as I am the Coach of this team, it’s crucial for me that he remained.”
Leo Stulac is back in the squad, but Luca Rigoni, Francisco Sierralta and new signing Abdou Diakhate are out of action.
D’Aversa has already called up Jose Machin and Mattia Sprocati, but Nicolas Schiappacasse is injured.
