D’Aversa’s side have been plagued with injuries all season, with Roberto Inglese being the latest casualty and leaving Cornelius as the last available striker.

“Andreas is in good condition, during the last three games it was thought to give him and Roberto Inglese minutes,” said D’Aversa in his press conference.

“It’s clear that we will have to be good at managing him because he is the only forward we have available.

“I hope he will have a good game.

“I played Inglese against Juventus due to his characteristics, his conditioning was good.

“Now we must be good at keeping Cornelius in a crystal bubble.”

Inglese’s injury against Juve ruled the Italian striker out for the next several months, and D’Aversa says he feels for the player.

“We suffered Inglese’s injury even during the match. We have lost an important player, and we are sorry on a human level.

“We were working to bring him to top condition and then the injury happened.

“On a human level, I’m very sorry. I hope that we will dedicate a victory to him because it would be important to give him a smile.”
