Inter defender Matteo Darmian said ‘the results will come’ through hard work and said coach Antonio Conte passes on his desire to win.

The Beneamata are in a winless run of four games across all competitions and host Torino on Sunday.

Darmian said he’s had a positive start to life at Inter and knew what to expect under Conte’s leadership.

“The feelings are positive, I’m enjoying myself,” Darmain told Sky Sport Italia. “I knew the coach well, we worked together in the national team.

Darmian said he’s had a positive start to life at Inter and knew what to expect under Conte’s leadership.

“The feelings are positive, I’m enjoying myself,” Darmain told Sky Sport Italia. “I knew the coach well, we worked together in the national team.

“It was easy to adapt and now it’s up to us to do our part better.”

When asked if Inter could fight for the Scudetto in 2020-21, the former Torino and Parma full-back said the Nerazzurri are only focused on ‘working to improve’.

“It’s up to us and what we will do on the pitch,” he said. “We must think about working and improving every day, then the results will come.

“The coach demands a lot every day, he takes care of every detail and at this level these things make the difference.

“He always wants to win and passes it on to the team.”

Darmian has appeared six times in Serie A with his new club and the former Milan youth said he’s happy to play for the Nerazzurri.

He stressed his past as a Rossonero doesn’t affect his commitment to Inter and the same goes when he plays against another former club this weekend.

“In football, nothing is for granted,” he said. “I grew up at Milan’s youth team, then I had my experiences to prove my worth.

“The experience at Torino was important, I had a great four years, I grew up and proved my worth. We reached important targets.

“On Sunday, I will play against them, but when I enter the pitch, I will only think about the three points. It’s a motivation and pride for me.

“Today, I’m here at Inter, in a very important club and I’m really happy."
