Inter full-back Matteo Darmian said it was ‘something beautiful and special to return home’ after moving from Parma to the Nerazzurri.

The former Milan youth returned to the fashion capital when he signed with Inter on October 5, moving back to San Siro after 10 years.

The former Torino defender has stints with Palermo, Torino and Manchester United during his career and has established himself as an important member of Antonio Conte’s squad at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Darmian has played 10 Serie A games and appeared four times in the Champions League this term, contributing two assists and one goal in the process.

He told ‘Inter Life – Christmas Edition 2020’ that San Siro was his favourite place.

“I consider Milan home, it’s where I was born and raised,” he said. “For me, it was something very beautiful and special to return home.

“San Siro is for sure among the places of my heart, then it’s the Castello Sforzesco and the Duomo [di Milano].”
