Matteo Darmian insists Manchester United was ‘an experience I’d do all over again’, despite his lack of game time, as he prepares to start over at Parma.

Darmian made just 92 appearances in four seasons with United, with just seven of those coming last season, losing his place in the Italy squad as a result.

Nonetheless, the full-back assured at his Parma presentation on Friday: “Signing for Manchester United was easy.

“it was a source of pride and responsibility to wear such an important shirt.

Nonetheless, the full-back assured at his Parma presentation on Friday: “Signing for Manchester United was easy.

“it was a source of pride and responsibility to wear such an important shirt.

“It’s an experience I’d do all over again, on and off the field. I really wanted to play and the lure of returning to Italy pushed me to leave Manchester.

“A professional must always accept the Coach’s decisions. You have to work hard to be ready.

“I’m available to the Coach. I give my best in every training session, regardless of what role I play.

“I chose Parma because I wanted to play and the club really wanted me. I’ve been following Italian football and Parma’s growth, which I think is still going.

“Everyone here has made me feel at home, I feel really happy. I’ve not been here for long, but I’ve already had the chance to meet different people who work for the club and they’re all exquisite.”

The 29-year-old joins a team in form as the Gialloblu won 3-1 at Udinese last weekend.

“The Coach is very well-prepared. The Udine game was positive, not only for the result.

“It’s a difficult place for any team to play, but we played our game and we won. There were so many positive aspects to take into consideration.

“Physically I’m fine, I’m working with the team and then it’s clear the Coach will make his choices.

“Our objective is survival. I’ll work hard during the week to do my bit.”
