Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian predicts Antonio Conte will do well at Chelsea.

The Italy CT has announced that he’s stepping down after Euro 2016, and seems all-but certain to join the Blues, who will appoint a new manager this summer.

“I think Conte is a great Coach,” Darmian told Sky.

“I’ve worked with him with the national team and I’ve seen the passion he puts into his work.

“He can definitely bring new tactical ideas in England, as well as his determination and passion for football.”

The former Torino man then discussed the Azzurri’s aims at the European Championships in France this summer.

“We want to have a good tournament, we’re definitely not going to France just to make up the numbers.

“Our first objective is to get through the group. It won’t be easy given the ability of our opponents, but we’re Italy and getting to the next round must be at least our first step to achieve.”

Finally, the defender was asked about his future, and insists he’ll be staying at Old Trafford for the long-haul.

“I’m happy here,” Darmian assured.

“I have a long contract and I’m not thinking about the transfer market, also because I want to finish this season in the best way at club and international level.”
