Matteo Darmian has agreed to sign a new contract with Inter and will put pen to paper soon, reports detail.

The Italian full back joined the Nerazzurri from Parma in October 2020, initially on loan before making a €3.3m move the following year. Since his arrival, Darmian has proven himself a useful and tactically flexible option, filling in where necessary under both Antonio Conte and Simone Inzaghi.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, after weeks of negotiations, Darmian has agreed to sign a new contract with Inter. The new deal will last until June 2024, with an option for a further year, and is worth around €2.5m net per season.

The Nerazzurri are now focusing their efforts on tying Hakan Calhanoglu down to a new deal and an agreement is seemingly close.

This season, the 33-year-old Darmian has scored one goal and provided two assists across 20 appearances, playing across Inter’s backline.
