“I am very happy to be at Genoa, an important club in an important League,” said Lazovic.

“My first impressions are positive. I should learn the language pretty quickly and I thank Goran Pandev, as he is helping me.

“I watched Serie A games ever since I was a little kid. I know that in Italy I will have the opportunity to improve myself as a player.

“The moment had come for me to change and challenge myself all over again. I grew up at Red Star Belgrade and can never forget those years, but now I am ready to give my all for the fiery Genoa fans.”

Lazovic confessed he submitted to the hazing ritual of singing at a club dinner and thanked his teammates for “a great welcome.

“My characteristics should suit Genoa’s tactics. I was told to focus on fitness training before learning the necessary movements.”
