RC Lens defender Kevin Danso, who failed a medical test with Roma earlier this summer, is still unable to play for his current employers due to ongoing examinations to monitor a possible heart condition.

Danso still being monitored after failed Roma move

The Austria international flew to Rome to undergo a medical with the Giallorossi back in August. Roma had been hoping to complete a deal in the region of €25m with Lens.

The medical did not go to plan, however, and Danso ended up having to fly back to France. He later released a statement hinting that Roma had a ‘deeper reason’ for calling the transfer off, questioning their ‘interpretation’ of the medical exams.

Though Danso returned to training with Lens on Friday, he will not be able to feature for a number of weeks at a minimum while further tests are carried out.

Reports from France suggest that the 25-year-old will not be able to play until the end of September at the very earliest while waiting to hear back from the latest round of cardiac exams.
