“We’ve got to start with the spirit of belief and hoping to take advantage of the relatively new nature of the Juventus line-up,” said D’Anna in his Press conference.

“If we were to start feeling we were going to lose, then we may as well just stay home or go to the beach. It starts at 0-0, we want to play open football, albeit knowing it’s a mountain to climb.

“Our idea is to make Juve sweat for every point. It won’t just be Juve on the field with us as a punching bag, as we want to cause them real problems and make them struggle if they are to win.”

It is the Serie A debut of Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Ballon d’Or winner will find clubs like Chievo are more organised than in La Liga.

“If we were just to focus on blocking Ronaldo, we’d lose sight of the tremendous quality throughout the Juventus squad,” continued D’Anna.

“We are a solid side and will play against Juve as a unit, not create some tactical cage for Ronaldo. This game is an opportunity to face one of the top sides in the world and makes me feel like when I was a player. We’ve got to go at it 100 km/h, without any outside worries.”
