Defender Danilo Larangeira reveals he wanted to remain at Bologna, but ‘nobody called’ to extend his contract.
The centre-back turned 37 this month and had been at the Stadio Dall’Ara since 2019.
“I wanted to stay for another year and could’ve given the team a hand,” Danilo told the Corriere dello Sport.
“I waited until the final game, but nobody called. I don’t know what was going through their minds, maybe Sinisa Mihajlovic is leaving as coach or they want a different style of football.”
Mihajlovic has been linked with the Lazio role and repeatedly complained at the transfer strategy in Bologna.
“The coach always asked for a striker and a defender, now they are going to need a striker and two defenders,” added Danilo.
“Anyway, I don’t want to create controversy.”
