Danilo insists Juventus players ‘always work to win’ and doesn’t understand why the media expected an easy game for PSG.

The Brazilian defender played in a three-man defence at the Parc des Princes tonight in Juventus’ 2-1 loss against PSG.

He was asked by Canale 5 if PSG had a more challenging game than they expected and the ex-Manchester City defender looked annoyed with the question.

“I ask myself why it should have been an easy game for PSG. I don’t understand this question, we work every day to win,” he said.

“We know that we were below the level Juventus require in the last game in Florence. Today, except for the opening 20 minutes, we proved that we have character and quality.

“We must learn straight away, from the next game, from minute one. We need to go out there and win.”

Juventus travelled to Paris on the back of a 1-1 draw against Fiorentina in Serie A. The game saw the Old Lady unable to produce one single shot on target in the second half.

The Serie A giants host Salernitana at the Allianz Stadium in the next Serie A game on Sunday and face Benfica in Turin on Wednesday, September 14.

Danilo is the only Juventus player to have featured in each one of the opening six games of the season so far.

  1. Players sometimes make a difference. In this case Mbappe was the difference. He scored two ‘wonder’ goals. Perhaps for the second he should not have got through the defence so quickly but the first was unstoppable.
