Udinese’s Brazilian defender Danilo believes he could be ‘useful’ for Italy, and wants to be Antonio Conte’s next oriundo.

The centre-back holds and Italian passport, and as a result would be eligible to represent the Azzurri at international level.

Current CT Conte has sparked controversy by calling up oriundi Eder and Franco Vazquez to his latest squad, and Danilo wants to follow in their footsteps.

“In Italy, just like in Brazil, people like controversy,” the 30-year-old told Udinese’s official website.
