Brazilian centre-back Danilo felt Bologna did well against ‘the best team in Italy’ and confessed they risked a lot playing with high pressure against Juventus.

Bologna sit 10th in Serie A after the 2-0 defeat on Monday night but Danilo was encouraged by the performance and felt the home side held their own until Cristiano Ronaldo scored the opening goal from the penalty spot.

“We faced the best team in Italy and we did well up until the penalty,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “If you go under against Juventus, it’s very difficult to come back.”

The 36-year-old felt coach Sinisa Mihajlovic had done well leading up to the match and felt Bologna managed to worry the Bianconeri at times.

“The coach prepared us well and we managed to disturb them for a while. Our way of playing consists of pressing.

“It’s clear that we risk something more, but we can put any team in difficulty.”

But Danilo has claimed the Rossoblu must improve in the in front of goal and has already moved on to the next match against Sampdoria on Sunday.

“We must improve several aspects. We should be more clinical up front, in example.

“We are already thinking about Sunday and our goal is to stay in the top half of the table.”
