Danilo was proud to sign a new contract with Juventus and underlined his desire to take the club ‘back to where they deserve’.

The 31-year-old Brazilian centre back joined the club in August 2019 from Manchester City in a swap deal involving Joao Cancelo. He’s quickly become a regular feature in Turin and has proven himself useful to Massimiliano Allegri on countless occasions this season, with his experience and tactical flexibility giving a helping hand to the club during a difficult season.

Writing on his Instagram page, Danilo shared his happiness at his new Juventus contract, which expires in June 2025.

“At Juventus, I immediately felt at home. I felt that I could stay under the Mole for a long time and today, with pride, I can say that this will be the case.

“I thank the club, my teammates who are always by my side in every battle and also all the fans who make me feel special every day.

“What I want is to return all the affection you show me by taking Juve back to the place they deserve, Forza Juve, fino alla fine, together!”

Danilo’s contract renewal is an important signal to the rest of the Juventus squad amidst their various off-pitch issues, namely the ongoing Prisma investigation and the 15-point deduction handed to them by the FIGC court.

The Brazilian defender is expected to be the first of a number of Juventus players to pen new contracts in the coming weeks and months.
