Diogo Dalot remains determined to extend his stay at Milan, claim Italian reports, but Manchester United won’t back down.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at San Siro, making 33 competitive appearances, in which he scored two goals and provided three assists.

Able to play as a right-back or a left-back, he was appreciated by coach Stefano Pioli for his versatility and improved as the campaign wore on.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that Dalot is eager to return to the Rossoneri and is so far rejecting other proposals, as he hopes the clubs can reach an agreement.

Milan have requested a new loan with option to buy at the end of the season, prepared to pay €3.5m for the extra 12 months.

However, Manchester United will only sell Dalot outright and want at least €20m.

The Old Trafford side paid €22m to get Dalot from FC Porto in the summer of 2018.

He has two senior caps for Portugal, having represented his country throughout the youth levels.
