Atalanta’s Marco D’Alessandro has come to the defence of underfire Coach Gian Piero Gasperini.
La Dea have lost four of their opening five Serie A matches this season to lie second from bottom of the table, putting pressure on the experienced tactician.

La Dea have lost four of their opening five Serie A matches this season to lie second from bottom of the table, putting pressure on the experienced tactician.
“We want to change how the table is looking, Atalanta do not belong second bottom,” midfielder D’Alessandro told L’Eco di Bergamo.
“Gasperini at risk? I read what the newspapers write, I relaise that football works like this. If the results don’t come, often the Coach pays for it.
“I certainly cannot fault the boss. Gasperini is a progressive Coach and this group has values and dedication that are worthy of a different League position.”
Atalanta travel to the only side below them in the table on Monday when they take on Crotone, a match D’Alessandro admits his team must win.
“On paper we are stronger than Crotone, it only matters to win.
“Crotone is a cup final and we only have one result in mind. After the mistakes against Palermo I haven’t slept!”
