Former Bordeaux owner Joe DaGrosa has confirmed his interest in buying Roma but claimed it could be ‘just one of the options considered’ by patron James Pallotta.

Dan Friedkin’s bid to purchase Roma seems to have been taken off the table and reports in Italy claimed DaGrosa was ready to pounce.

However, the 55-year-old, who bought Bordeaux in November 2018 and sold the Ligue 1 side barely 12 moths later, has also claimed the reports in Italy tend to ‘exaggerate’.

“I can confirm that AS Roma are one of the numerous clubs that we have examined in a preliminary way,” he told offthepitch.com. “I think that perhaps our involvement has been exaggerated by our friends in the Italian press.

“I’m sure that Pallotta has many alternatives and we’re just one of the options he’s considering.”
