Patrick Cutrone has pulled out of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ squad to face Liverpool, amidst speculation of a move to Fiorentina.

Cutrone was initially named as a substitute for the match on Sunday, but Wolves soon announced he had been replaced without an explanation.

The Athletic’s Wolves correspondent Tim Spiers tweeted the former Milan striker had withdrawn due to illness.

However, it comes while the 21-year-old is being heavily linked with a January transfer to Fiorentina.

The Viola have emerged as his likeliest destination, with a loan and option to buy at the end of the season mooted.
