“The second goal isn’t mine, I didn’t get a touch,” he said of the Stelvio Cruz own goal.

“We had started well, it’s a pity that we were punished for those two distractions. The important thing was getting the three points and I don’t think we were lacking humility, we just got distracted. It’s a lesson we will learn from, that anyone can score against you if you’re not focused.

“We did well to get our heads in the right place and fight back straight away.”

Now Milan can qualify even with a defeat by certain scorelines away to Olympiacos.

“We mustn’t make calculations, it’s important to go there with the right mentality to win,” insisted Cutrone.
