Fiorentina forward Patrick Cutrone has been “impressed” by Inter star Romelu Lukaku’s “attitude” and said his best memory is against tomorrow’s opponent.
The former Milan forward is preparing to face Inter in the Coppa Italia on Wednesday and has revealed that Lukaku “could’ve had a different attitude” when the Belgium international arrived in Serie A.
“Lukaku has impressed me,” he told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “Not for the goals he is scoring, he has always scored a lot of goals, but for the humility he had when he made himself available to Conte and for Inter.
“He is Lukaku, a phenomenal striker. He could have come to Italy with a different attitude.”
Cutrone came back from the Premier League after only six months in England and claimed he was overlooked by Wolverhampton coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
“I went to Wolverhampton with a lot of enthusiasm,” he admitted. “The fans loved me; they dedicated a chant to me. After all, I scored three goals in the few minutes I played.
“But I had a coach that preferred to focus on the ones who had been loyal to him.”
The 22-year-old scored in his last match in the Coppa Italia and when asked about his best memory in football, he pulls out a goal against the Nerazzurri in the tournament.
“On December 27, 2017,” he said. “The derby in the Coppa Italia, 104th minute. Suso served me on a silver platter and I put it away. Inter out.”
