Patrick Cutrone is leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers for a return to Italy and his hometown of Como, where his teammate with be Cesc Fabregas.

The club is in Serie B, but with rich owners including Fabregas and director Dennis Wise, have ambitions to aim far for the top flight very soon.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Cutrone has already agreed a transfer and will sign a contract with Como to June 2025.

This really is a return home for the 24-year-old, because he was born and raised in Como, going on to make his way through the Milan youth academy.

He was sold to Wolves for €18m in the summer of 2019, but lost all confidence, including in loan spells for Fiorentina, Valencia and Empoli.

His contract with the Premier League side only runs to June 2023 and they are making a big loss on the striker.

Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio notes this is a permanent transfer, so not a loan.
