Bologna goalkeeper Gianluca Curci has admitted that Bologna have given him a second chance this season.
The 28-year-old was on loan at the Rossoblu last term from Roma, and looked to be on his way back to the capital over the summer. But Stefano Pioli’s men agreed a last minute deal to bring the shot-stopper back to Renato Dell’Ara.
And the former Samp man has admitted that he is very grateful, whilst also commenting on his injuries during the off-season.
“This summer I had an accident in Croatia, but after a month I recovered,” he told reporters.
“And then I got back on the field but had a relapse.
“The problem seems to be resolved but I still need to be assessed now and then.
“I received a new opportunity from Bologna, and for that I am very grateful.
“I want to show them how thankful I am on the pitch.
“This season is fundamental for me – hopefully it can be a turning point for my career.”
