Juan Cuadrado is still considering his future as a free agent and jokes Cristiano Ronaldo ‘doesn’t want me’ in Saudi Arabia, but feels ‘some are just starting to realise what my time at Juventus meant.’
The Colombia international was unable to agree terms on a new contract, so his deal was allowed to expire on June 30.
He just turned 35 in May and has no intention of hanging up his boots.
“I feel proud and perhaps some are just starting to realise what my time at Juventus meant,” Cuadrado told AS in Colombia.
“I can only thank God for having eight years playing at that level. I dreamed of it, but didn’t think it would be like that, spending so long there.
“I hope that in future Colombians who go to the likes of Juventus and Milan can leave this kind of legacy too. It fills me with pride.”
He made 314 competitive appearances in the Juventus jersey, scoring 26 goals and providing 65 assists.
The full-back won five Serie A titles with the Old Lady, four Coppa Italia editions and two Italian Super Cups.
When it comes to his own next career step, many have reported of interest from the Saudi Pro League, especially considering his friendship with former Juventus teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.
“At this moment, I still have the passion and I like to compete. Besides, Ronaldo is down there and he doesn’t want me!
“I am very relaxed, thinking of what is best, asking God for help with these decisions. My agent Andrey Martinez was in Europe and has just arrived to talk to me about various situations. Obviously, there are options and we’ll analyse which is the best.”
Cuadrado also refuses to rule out hanging on to participate in the 2026 World Cup with Colombia.
