Juan Cuadrado and Facundo Roncaglia are out of Fiorentina’s squad to face Real Madrid reportedly for technical reasons only.

The absence of the duo – and in particular that of the Colombian winger – from the selection to face Los Blancos this weekend has raised eyebrows amid continued speculation of a move away.

However, a number of sources in Italy are reporting instead that both players are only out of Vincenzo Montella’s squad for technical reasons.

However, a number of sources in Italy are reporting instead that both players are only out of Vincenzo Montella’s squad for technical reasons.

Both players are suspended for Week 1 of the 2014-15 Serie A season and Montella apparently intends to try out players against Madrid that will form the nucleus of the side that will line up in that opening League fixture against Roma.

Cuadrado continues to be linked with Manchester United and Barcelona, with this seen as a crucial period to any successful move going through.
