Juan Cuadrado confirms he has received a proposal to extend his contract with Juventus and ‘hope to reach an agreement.’

The Colombia international just turned 35 years old last month and his current deal is due to expire on June 30.

He was one of the players expected to be released at the end of the season, especially as the Bianconeri have only managed to qualify for the Conference League and could well be expelled from that tournament too by UEFA over Financial Fair Play violations.

“They made me a proposal, but I am not thinking about it at this moment,” Cuadrado told reporters while on international duty.

“I said that we’ll talk about it later on. We hope to reach an agreement and continue playing at a high level.”

If Juventus have indeed offered to extend his contract, then Cuadrado would be given a far lower salary than the one he currently commands.

He has been at the club since 2015, arriving initially on loan from Chelsea and then purchased outright for a total €26.8m.

This was not one of his best campaigns, making 47 competitive appearances for the Turin giants, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
