The sporting judge in Italy has ruled that sanctions will be handed out to Juan Cuadrado, Samir Handanovic and Romelu Lukaku after the hostile end to the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final between Juventus and Inter on Tuesday night.

Cuadrado and Handanovic were involved in a physical altercation after the final whistle, during which the Colombian international attempted to strike Inter’s 38-year-old goalkeeper with his fist.

For his actions during the scrap, Cuadrado has been handed a three-game ban and a fine of €10.000, meaning he won’t be available for the return leg against Inter and the potential Coppa Italia Final. He will be available for the next Serie A matches, starting with Lazio on Saturday.

Handanovic will also serve a one-game suspension for his involvement in the brawl at the end of the game and will also have to pay a €10.000 penalty.

Despite Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s insistence that the club would appeal Lukaku’s second yellow card for his celebrations following his 95th minute penalty, the Belgian international has been suspended for the return leg at San Siro in three weeks.

The official report stated that Lukaku was sanctioned for: “Misbehaviour towards an opponent and for non-regulatory behaviour on the pitch.”
