Juan Guillermo Cuadrado said Fiorentina “believe” in a Champions League spot, especially with Alessandro Diamanti.

The Colombian was linked with a Premier League move this week, but shrugged off speculation in the English media.

“I am happy in Florence and have been since the moment I got here,” he told Radioblu.

“The fans love me and always say hello in the street. It’s always exciting to score goals and I hope to continue like this.

“Our victory over Palermo on Sunday was very important, as it put us in the race with the other teams for third place. We must continue like this and see where we end up.

“We are fighting for third and have to realise we are a great squad with that same mentality.”

Fiorentina have strengthened with the arrival of Diamanti from Guangzhou Evergrande.

“He’s an excellent player and one who can give the team a great deal.”

Mario Gomez is a big problem for the Tuscans, as he is repeatedly missing sitters and visibly lacking confidence.

“I have no advice for him, we all know he’s a great player,” added Cuadrado. “As soon as possible, when he scores a goal, he’ll never stop again.”
