CSKA Moscow are interested in signing unneeded Lazio forward Vedat Muriqi and they’ve opened talks with the Roman club.

The 27-year-old Kosovan forward has failed to convince coach Maurizio Sarri this season and he’s never really settled in Rome, scoring only two goals in 48 appearances across all competitions. The club are looking to offload him this month in order to sign a more suitable backup striker.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, CSKA Moscow have registered their interest in Muriqi and so they’ve opened talks with Lazio, hoping to find an agreement before this month’s transfer window closes.

Multiple English clubs are also interested in the Kosovan forward, including Leeds United, West Brom and Hull City, so it seems incredibly likely that the player will depart the Biancocelesti this month.

Under Sarri, Muriqi has made 14 appearances, for a total of 313 minutes. In that time, he has only provided one assist, in a 1-1 draw against Torino back in September.

  1. I am shocked ANY European team would go out of their way to sign him. If I were the Lazio negotiating team I would immediately drive him to his new location personally!
