According to Sky Sport Italia, Crystal Palace have opened talks with Sassuolo for Jeremie Boga.

The 24-year-old, a former Chelsea academy player, sees his contract expire in June 2022 and, back in May, he announced he wanted to leave Sassuolo.

“Back in January, we were in talks to extend my contract and we never reached an agreement,” the player told L’Equipe.

“For this reason, we decided that the best thing for both parties was to part ways in the summer. After three years, this is the right moment.”

Atalanta had been in talks with Sassuolo but never managed to reach an agreement for the 24-year-old who joined Sassuolo in a permanent €10m deal from Chelsea in 2018.

Boga has scored 18 goals in 92 appearances with the Serie A side.

New Sassuolo coach Davide Dionisi started him in the first two opening Serie A games of the season, against Hellas Verona and Sampdoria.

Boga collected an assist against the Scaligeri in the debut Serie A game of the campaign.

  1. On his day, he is a world beating monster. But it’s been a while since we’ve seen him perform consistently.
