“I scored against Juve and beat them many times. The Bianconeri really brought me luck,” ex-Inter striker Cruz told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I scored against Juve and beat them many times. The Bianconeri really brought me luck,” ex-Inter striker Cruz told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
“Inter hadn’t won in Turin for 10 years and it seemed like a curse, but then I scored a free kick at the Stadio Delle Alpi in 2003. Gigi Buffon was in goal and I decided to aim for the near post. It turned into this perfect curler that nobody was expecting.
“We won 3-1 that day and I got a brace. The joy I felt was just incredible.”
Cruz has a good track record against Juventus, but so does Icardi, netting six times in just five meetings.
“Icardi is a great hitman and netting against Juve makes you an idol for the Inter fans. He wears the same number 9 shirt that I had and is flying the flag for Argentinean forwards at the club. I really like him.”
The Nerazzurri won the opening five rounds, but then picked up one point from two games, so can they win the Scudetto?
“With Roberto Mancini’s return they revolutionised the squad. Roberto is a great Coach, his arrival the first time changed our mentality and Inter got back to winning the title. His greatest talent is understanding what the players need.
“Inter have started strong and feel more relaxed, but watch out for Roma and Lazio. It’s strange to see Juve so far down the table. It’s a long tournament, but it is also difficult to make up so much lost ground.”
