Crowd trouble continued before and during Napoli’s Champions League tie with Union Berlin, as there were clashes and fireworks were then thrown into the opposition section.

There were already problems overnight in Naples between Union Berlin supporters and the local police, leading to several arrests.

Groups of Napoli ultras decided to get involved too today, with several clashes throughout the afternoon building up to the match.

There were reports in news agency ANSA of some scuffles in the road leading up to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

Problems continued in the early stages of the game too, as Sky Sport Italia report that Napoli ultras repeatedly threw fireworks into the section containing the German supporters.

A statement had to be read out warning that if this continued, the game would be suspended, as loud explosions were repeatedly heard in the arena.

CalcioNapoli24, who are also in the stadium, claim the Berlin fans were returning the fireworks to the Napoli section too.
