Croatia Coach Niko Kovac has given an update on the condition of Inter’s Mateo Kovacic, admitting he doesn’t know how serious his injury is.
Kovacic limped off during his national side’s game against Azerbaijan with a groin injury, and is now a doubt for the Nerazzurri’s clash with Napoli on Sunday.
“Mateo had a pain in his abductor muscle and could no longer play,” Kovac commented to reporters after yesterday’s game.

“Mateo had a pain in his abductor muscle and could no longer play,” Kovac commented to reporters after yesterday’s game.
“I honestly don’t know how severe it is.
“I had hoped he would come in handy for the Under-21s tomorrow in the [European Championship] play-off [second leg against England], but we’ll have to wait and see what Inter say.”
Kovacic has been a crucial player for the Nerazzurri so far this campaign, scoring two goals and notching one assist in his six Serie A appearances thus far.
