Croatia confirm Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic has suffered a flexor injury.

The 29-year-old limped off the pitch in the first half of yesterday’s 3-1 win over Austria with a suspected flexor injury.

The Croatian Federation has confirmed the issue with an official statement on Twitter.

Brozovic could remain out of action for up to a month, as confirmed by Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic on Sunday.

Brozovic is on his way back to Inter and will undergo further medical examinations in Milan.

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Brozo won’t rush his return to the pitch, knowing that a relapse would force him to miss the World Cup that starts in Qatar on November 20.

Croatia and Real Madrid star Luka Modric admitted that Brozovic’s injury ‘affected’ the team, although they still managed to secure a victory and win their group ahead of defending World Cup champions France, qualifying for the Nations League Final Four.
