Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent flies in for Juventus talks

Multiple reports state Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes has arrived in Turin for emergency talks with the Juventus striker, amid PSG and Manchester City reports.

The story given by practically every media resource in Italy, Portugal, Spain, France and England is that Ronaldo thinks his time at Juve is over and he wants to move on, but there are no firm offers.

His €30m per season salary is a huge problem to deal with, not to mention that Juventus want €30m to avoid making a loss on his original €117m transfer from Real Madrid in 2018.

The Ballon d’Or winner’s contract is due to expire at the end of this season and a renewal is improbable for all concerned.

Now Mendes has arrived in Turin for emergency talks with both Ronaldo and Juventus, outlining the situation as the days tick down to the transfer deadline.

La Gazzetta dello Sport, Calciomercato.com and others all report Mendes arrived at Caselle airport in Turin with a private jet this afternoon and went straight to Ronaldo’s house.

Manchester City might be interested in signing CR7, but not with a transfer fee, so would have to propose an exchange deal.

As for PSG, they seem more inclined towards Bayern Munich hitman Robert Lewandowski if Kylian Mbappé succeeds in pushing through his dream move to Real Madrid.

That could spark a domino effect on the transfer market, but Ronaldo is now stuck waiting to see what happens elsewhere.

He was initially on the bench for the Juventus Serie A season opener, a 2-2 draw against Udinese, further raising doubts over his future.
