Investigators could call in Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, to request information on the ‘secret’ Juventus contract.

The authorities are looking into Juve’s finances as part of a wider investigation into inflated transfer fees and capital gains, known as plusvalenze.

Prosecutor to question Cristiano Ronaldo on Juventus’ ‘secret document’?

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Cristiano Ronaldo himself could be called in as a witness, but the Corriere della Sera newspaper insists it might be easier to get his agent Jorge Mendes instead.

It is suggested Mendes could be called to give evidence after the Christmas holidays.

The same newspaper claims a telephone wiretap caught lawyer Cesare Gabasio and director Federico Cherubini discussing the document that “isn’t supposed to exist.”

As Juventus are on the stock exchange, their transfers and contracts are more exposed to potential investigations by the authorities.

Today, Under-23 director Giovanni Manna had a three-hour meeting with the authorities.

The Corriere della Sera claims that two of the former Juventus financial directors who were called to give evidence – Marco Re and Stefano Bertola – refused to answer questions.
