La Gazzetta Dello Sport and Repubblica report Cristiano Ronaldo made a new request to get the documents regarding the financial investigation involving Juventus.
Ronaldo’s first request to the Turin Prosecutor was rejected last month. The Portuguese superstar wants to scrutinise the documents about the investigation through his lawyers as the Bianconeri still owe him almost €20m, reports in Italy claim.
Investigators believe Ronaldo and other Juventus players didn’t give up on four months’ wages but only renounced to a month’s salary, receiving the rest of the money under the table.
Juventus did not register debts with their players in their financial statements, so they are under investigation for alleged false accounting, among other things.
As Gazzetta explained earlier this month, the Turin Prosecutor could allow Ronaldo to get the documents regarding the investigation if he accepts to clarify his position, explaining which documents he signed and whether he and other players were given money under the table.
Juventus’ Supervisory Board confirmed earlier this month that the striker’s lawyers had requested the documents regarding the ongoing criminal investigation to the Turin Prosecutor to understand his position better, being a creditor of the club.
