Cristiano Ronaldo has become the first player in history to score 800 competitive goals between club and country, including 101 for Juventus.

The 36-year-old was on target for Manchester United in this evening’s Premier League game against Arsenal.

He was already the record-holder for official goals in all recognised competition, but extended it even further by reaching 800 with a right-footed strike from Marcus Rashford’s assist.

This was his 129th goal in the Manchester United jersey over two different spells.

He also found the net 450 times for Real Madrid, 101 for Juventus and five for Sporting CP, plus 115 goals for Portugal at senior international level.

Ronaldo was not satisfied with the round number and rapidly reached 801 goals soon after by converting a penalty at Old Trafford.

CR7 was already at Manchester United from 2003 to 2009 and the Portuguese legend returned in August on transfer deadline day for €15m plus bonuses after three years in the Juventus shirt.

5 thought on “Cristiano Ronaldo makes history with 800th goal”
  1. why not give him the golden boot, and last yr did he not win the Serie A top scorer, pls just don’t score in the playoffs

  2. he is a one in a million type of player….not even a fan , but somehow you cannot be no matter where in the world you come from.
just hope if Italy meet Portugal hes out injured or suspended.

…if italy even get past Macedonia ?!

  3. Part of me wants him to play. Hear me out.

Portugal are more predictable when he’s playing. He will never be subbed off so no need to anticipate a tactical move. Even if Turkey take them to 120 Minutes with a lot of energy expended, he will remain on for every minute of the subsequent match with Italy or North Macedonia. Portugal won the Euro 2016 Final without him. With him, in 2016, so many Draws saw them advance. With him, Germany beat them consistently and without mercy.

But with him on, he could very well bury us with a couple of goals.

  4. Something else to keep in mind, Ronaldo is 0/1 in PK’s against Gigio. He went low and to Gigio’s right.

I notice most of Ronaldo’s PKs are low to the GK’s right (as is common for a right footed kicker) or when he wants emphasis he goes high to the GK’s left.

This is something they will have to study. Something tells me if he shots a spot kick, he will go high and to the GK’s left.

From the very little that I saw of the ‘All or Nothing’ documentary, Ronaldo really had a good to great relationship with Carlo Pinsoglio. People accuse him of being arrogant but an arrogant player doesn’t have such a great relationship with the 3rd Choice GK

I do wonder if the Juve players on Italy and even Pinsoglio would have any information they could pass on to Ronaldo’s PK’s. Same with Chiesa who seemed to he close to him. 3 Years there somebody’s got to have useful information.

  5. Comment
In Italy, with 6 trophies on her credit, didn’t impress as much as in England with just one trophy!
With Juventus with 36 league trophies and nine champion league finals showed how egoistic he was.
I just quote from Shakespeare Gulius Ceasar play, ‘ Honour for his valur, but death for his ambition’.
